When his family could no longer take care of him, Kenny found himself in rural Pennsylvania shelter. Shelter staffers contacted MAESSR because they recognized Kenny’s sweet personality and knew that MAESSR would be able to find him a great new family.
A total Velcro boy, Kenny displays all of the traits so common to the Springer breed. He is loyal, loving, smart, friendly, and just overall happy! He just knows that people are here to give him belly rubs and hugs!
Kenny has very good inside house manners. He is fully housetrained, is not a barker, does not counter- surf, and does not get onto the furniture. He will jump into your lap if you are seated, though! Kenny was also a very good boy when given a bath and being seen by the vet for his check up and vaccinations. He is also a pretty low-maintenance Springer with a fluffy coat and full tail; he really only needs a regular bath, nail trim, and ear clean and trim – all of which he does not mind.
Although he is crate-trained, trustworthy Kenny is permitted to have free run of the house when his foster mom is at work as well as at bedtime. Kenny loves to go for walks and is fairly good on the leash. To show how smart he is, Kenny will bring you his leash when he is ready to go for a walk or when he needs to do his duty. The basic commands “sit, paw, down, and off” are all part of Kenny’s repertoire and he would be eager to learn more! When riding in the car, you don’t even know he’s there! Such a good boy!
Even though Kenny is seven, he loves to play with the younger foster Springer and will play ball with an older resident. Kenny is very social, also; he currently lives with both dogs and cats of both sexes and has no issues with any of them. If he meets a new dog on a walk, Kenny just wags his tail and says, “Hello.” What a good boy!
Kenny is a gem of a Springer! Bring him into your life!
