Original: Kelsie and her sister lived with her family for 8 years. They were surrendered to a shelter due to children’s allergies. She and her sister were adopted from the shelter by a wonderful older gentleman who they lived with for two years. He and Kelsie’s sister have since passed away.
Kelsie is in need of a new home. She is 10 years old, 46lbs, is L/W, spayed and housetrained. Also in the house were two young cats that Kelsie got along with. According to a family member, Kelsie has had experience with kids of all ages and likes to be with her people. She quickly learned where her outside boundaries were and will prefer to be with her family. She does well with other dogs. As with many senior dogs, Kelsie is a bit hard of hearing but will respond to body gestures.
Kelsie is currently staying with a friend of the owner who states that “she really doesn’t have any bad habits and is a very sweet dog who does not deserve to be disposed of.”. The owner did let her on the couch. She is used to being in the same room (and bedroom) with her person. She is a “curl up at your feet” kind of girl.
The cats in her life have been taken to the local shelter and her current digs consist of an indoor /outdoor dog kennel. She would love to share a couch again with some special person. Do you have room in your heart for her?
Update: Kelsie found a wonderful family to spend her senior years with.
