Original: “Kelsey will never be an Olympic track star, but she will be able to go on walks comfortably as she continues to heal.”
Kelsey and Katie came to MAESSR after their owners in Virginia died. They were treasured members of the family. Both pups are very sweet girls but are not bonded.
Kelsey is such a sweet loving girl. She wants to be as close as possible to her people at all times. She is crate-trained, but a crate is not necessary as she does not counter-surf or trash dive. Good girl, Kelsey! In the car, Kelsey rides well but she needs assistance getting in due to an old ACL tear in her right rear leg.
When Kelsey came to MAESSR, she could barely walk. The girls had been crated a lot in the last six months as their family was dealing with major health issues, and they had lost some muscle tone. Now that she is all cleaned up, nails trimmed and hair trimmed from feet, she is walking better. Trying to keep up with her foster mom has helped get the muscle moving, so even better. Kelsey will never be an Olympic track star, but she will be able to go on walks comfortably as she continues to heal. She is taking a quality joint supplement to help with her mobility. Kelsey cannot do more than two or three stairs; it is just too hard on her right rear leg.
Keep an eye on this sweet senior as she continues to get the care and love she deserves. Kelsey just might be the perfect addition to your family.
