We were contacted by a Maryland family interested in Springer mix puppies in Nebraska. The next day, we learned of a Springer mix puppy in a high kill shelter in West Virginia. MAESSR typically is not able to help mixes because we do not have the resources. However, this time we had an adoptive home waiting and were able to transport Kailey straight from the shelter to her new home. MAESSR put a hold on her the day she was to be destroyed – lucky girl.
We don’t know much about Kailey. She was brought in as a stray. She was following some kids on bicycles and would not leave them when they tried to shoo her away.
Update:
Kailey now lives with a loving family and their one-year-old son.
