Update 10/22/03:
Joy has found the perfect family to lover her.
Original:
Joy needs to find a new home because her owners have moved into a retirement community and couldn’t take her with them. She is now temporarily living at their son’s home. Joy is 11 years of age but acts like she is 4 or 5. She is a petite girl weighing in at around 30 pounds. Joy has a sweet personality. She has spent most of her life in a dog lot in the backyard. Joy is now being kept indoors and has been doing great in the house training department.
Joy and the resident 11-year-old yellow lab do not get along, because of this poor Joy is spending to much time in the crate. When she is out of the crate, she is usually leashed to something or someone inside the house. Joy walks well on the leash and loves to run and play in the fenced yard. It is not known if Joy has had any obedience training but does seem responsive to basic commands. She rides nicely in the car.
Joy has a sweet personality and has never shown any aggression or bitten anyone. She has met children, and seemed curious but shown little interest in them. She has only shown aggression to the resident dog on 2 occasions and because of this she should be placed as an only dog or with a laid back dog. It is not known how she is with cats.
Joy’s behavior at the groomer’s is great. She was fine with the bathing, nail and coat clipping, and now looks stunning. Joy’s health is excellent for her age. According to the vet, she is not showing signs of arthritis, cataracts or hearing loss. Joy has many active years ahead of her.
Please consider putting some JOY in your life!
