Update 07/04/11:
Jerry made health gains in MAESSR’s care but, as his complete temperament became apparent, it was sadly clear that he could not be offered for adoption.
Original:
Jerry was originally purchased for the children in his Maryland family. The children grew up and went off to college so Jerry was lonely. His owner felt Jerry would be happier in a home where he could get more attention so he was relinquished to MAESSR.
In his foster home, Jerry has been a real sweetie, except when it is time to put meds in his ears! He is NOT a fan of that. He likes to follow his foster mom everywhere and thinks the closer the better. He also gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. When he first arrived in foster care, he was very leery of them, but has quickly adjusted to life in a multiple canine family. Jerry likes to ride in the car and is friendly with everyone he meets.
At night Jerry sleeps peacefully on a dog bed beside his foster parents’ bed. Showing good manners, he has not counter-surfed or checked out the trash can. What a good boy! In his excitement at going for a walk, Jerry does pull on the leash, but does settle down.
Currently, Jerry is being treated for bad ear infections and a skin infection. His foster mom thinks he will be a great boy once everything is healed.
