Original: Jenni is a liver and white field bred spaniel with a white patched face. Her owner could no longer keep her and her housemates, Rusty and Trey, for health reasons. Jenni has come into MAESSR’s care and is being fostered with Rusty.
Both Jenni and Rusty are chubby pups who are dieting and getting more exercise so that they can trim down. Jenni’s excess weight and her arthritis have not stopped her from wanting to go to the park to walk around and sniff everything. She steps slowly but obviously enjoys getting outside. She currently takes glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate for her joints and may be taking something stronger once she has her vet appointment. A quiet home with few stairs would be best for Jenni.
Jenni is obedient, housetrained, and INCREDIBLY sweet. When her foster parents come home or when she meets people in the park, she is a fat little wiggle butt who enjoys being fawned over. She rolls on her side, raising her leg to have her belly rubbed, and looks quite contented when people comply. She is an affectionate cuddler. Jenni needs a boost into the car, but once in, she is a good passenger.
For many years, Jenni has lived with cats and she is good with them. The resident cats in her foster home like to come to her and sniff her, saying hello, and she sniffs right back. She is very patient when Rusty and the young resident springer start to play. She doesn’t even complain when they sometimes bowl her over. She is very pleasant with other dogs at the park, too. She has not met any children since being at her foster home, but would be fine with older ones who would treat her with care.
Do you have a place for a loving, slow-paced springer girl? Jenni is a delightful and mature springer who is still full of life and love. Won’t you make a place in your home and hearts for her?
