Original: “Jenni’s goal is to be as close to any person as she can get.”
Tennessee Springers Jenni and her house-mate Forrest were relinquished to MAESSR as a result of a divorce and the owners moving. Family friends had agreed to keep these outside dogs temporarily on their farm, but they and the owners felt that the pair deserved a much better life. MAESSR was contacted and volunteers quickly got them to their foster home in Virginia.
The day after she arrived in her foster home, Jenni went to the vet. While there, it was determined she had a urinary tract infection along with a heavy load of hookworms and whipworms. She also tested positive for ehrlichia. Jenni was immediately started on an antibiotic for the urinary tract infection and also an antibiotic for treatment of the ehrlichia, even though she was not showing any symptoms. Treatment for the worms was started, too, so she should be feeling 100% shortly. This little lady was a perfect angel at the vet and groomer.
Jenni’s goal is to be as close to any person as she can get. She will take loving, treats, or play. She really does not care as long as you are paying attention to her. In appreciation for the attention she is now receiving, Jenni always has a cute smile on her face that just makes you laugh. You are not going to be lonely with Jenni around! If her people need to go on errands in the car, Miss Jenni is more than happy to accompany them; she rides well in the car. If her people want to go out on a walk, Jenni is right there to walk with them. There’s no pulling on the leash either.
Although Jenni initially had been crated at night, she has shown herself to be very reliable so now she has been given free roam of the house. She has not had any accidents in her foster home even with having a urinary tract infection! She has excellent house manners. If she chooses not to sleep in her open crate, she will climb on the sofa for the night.
If you are looking for a Springer to keep you company, love you, and make you laugh, Jenni just might be your girl.
