Update 02/07/11:
If even for a very short time, Jazz was blessed to be a MAESSR girl. Once in the hands of a foster family, her health was fully assessed and what could be done to better her days was done. The love she brought to the home was returned in full measure and was with her as she passed on to the Bridge. Godspeed, Jazz.
Original:
Jazz came to MAESSR when her owner dropped her off at a crowded kill shelter in New Jersey saying he was moving and couldn’t take her with him. The owner said she was hyper and cautious. MAESSR contacted the shelter and one of our wonderful volunteers scooped her up quickly.
Her foster family has found Jazz to be a great girl with terrific house manners. Although she is housetrained, she does need to go potty on frequent basis, so the doggy door in her foster home comes in handy. Jazz loves to ride in the car and gets really excited when the leash comes out. All her foster home has seen is that she is a total love.
Unfortunately, Jazz has some fairly significant health issues. She has several cancerous mammary masses. When chest x-rays were done, they showed the cancer was also in the lungs. The vet felt that at most she would have six months to live, so MAESSR has just made her a permanent foster so she can live out her days in comfort. Say a little prayer for this sweet girl.
