Original: Jayden was relinquished to MAESSR by his Pennsylvania owner whose living situation did not allow her to keep him any longer. He was kept outside in his previous home, tied in the back yard.
This very sweet and lovable Springer is adjusting well to living in the house with his new foster family. Although not completely housetrained, Jayden is learning very quickly how to behave inside. He has already learned to go into his crate when told to do so, and he sleeps there quietly for the night, as well.
A definite people-lover, Jayden gets very excited when somebody comes to visit and tries to jump to greet them. His foster parents are working with him on this behavior. Jayden loves to snuggle, too, and could sit next to you for hours as long as you keep petting him. Jayden currently lives with three, young, resident dogs. He gets along with them really well playing, running, and going on walks. Not object possessive at all, he does not mind sharing his water or food bowl with other dogs. He also is willing to share his toys with them without getting into arguments about them.
Jayden is quickly learning how to walk on the leash. Although he pulls occasionally, he is getting better every day. His foster dad takes him along when he goes running and Jayden loves that! He responds fairly well to simple commands like come and is learning how to sit.
On his first trip to the groomer, Jayden behaved really well. His first visit to the vet was also a great success. He didn’t mind being examined by the vet and his foster family was happy to find out that he is perfectly healthy. He does have a little rash on his neck underneath his collar, probably from being tied up in his previous living situation. It does not seem to bother him and he has been cooperative about having it treated. Although he is really good once he is in the car, he needs to be picked up to get in since he is afraid to jump up. Jumping out is no problem for him, though. A happy passenger, Jayden just sits in the back seat and watches the world roll by.
A really great dog, Jayden will be a great companion for somebody who will give him love and attention. He is so incredibly friendly that it is impossible not to fall in love with him from the first sight!
