Original: Jake is a seven-year-old, neutered, liver and white, weighing in at 81 pounds. Jake is coming into rescue due to a divorce. He was originally kenneled for five months (hence a weight gain) and then he was taken to a house and tied up in the back yard for five weeks. A springer lover was notified of Jake’s situation, and she will keep Jake until we can take him.
Jake is reported to be extremely overweight and lacks muscle tone. Jake was a good boy while he was getting his bath and nails clipped. The vet reported that Jake had to be muzzled while they were cleaning his ears. His foster home stated that Jake needs time to adjust and he will be fine with ear cleanings. He got a little fussy while the mats were cut off of his coat, but who wouldn’t?
Jake is reported to have lived with three young children. He is good with dogs, but it is unknown how he will react to cats. Jake does not chew, dig, beg, or counter surf. Of course, his weight does not make him very active. He knows sit, down, and waits to go out. Jake is not food or toy aggressive. He does not pull on the leash and has no known bad habits, other than lounging on the sofa. He is a big cuddly couch potato.
Update: Jake came back into foster care when the other dog in his adoptive home could not adjust to his presence. The other dog picked repeated fights with Jake and he had to defend himself. We will be looking for another home for Jake soon.
Update: Jake has a new home!
