Update 1/13/04:
Jack has been adopted!
Original:
Jack is doing terrifically in his foster home. His foster mom reports that when Jack first came home her, he inspected the house and made himself at home within a half-hour. He is left uncrated in his foster home and is doing just fine. Jack loves to play ball and tug. He is the only dog in his foster home, but on a recent trip to the pet store, though sometimes he is a little timid, Jack just greeted everyone, both human and canine, with a wonderfully playful nature. He does play growl at his foster mom when she takes his toy from him because he wants to play tug a little before giving up his toy. She reaches right into his mouth to take the toy without any problem. He does bark when he meets new people too, sometimes startling people, but he wags his tail the entire time and really just wants them to pet him. Aren’t all visitors merely coming to play with and pet him after all?
Jack had very bad mats and dreds on his full tail when he first got to rescue and his foster mom has since clipped them all out. He was very good for his bath though he really didn’t want to get into the bathtub. Once he did though he was a good boy and stood still until it was over. He doesn’t mind having his paws touched and will take puppy treats very gently. Jack comes when he is called and listens very well. And he loves snow!
Jack has a mild cough and has been sneezing and we suspect kennel cough. He will go to the vet this week and we will update with more information as soon as we have it. His foster mom doesn’t suspect any other issues other than a case of dry skin and the cough.
He loves his rubdowns, belly scratches, etc. Jack loves to snuggle up and watch TV with his foster mom, loves rubdowns and belly scratches and would love a permanent home who will would love to play ball as much as he does and settle in at night for cuddles too!
