Original: Isabelle was turned into the Burlington County shelter. She will be fostered by a MAESSR volunteer. Our first steps will be to get her to a vet for a full check-up. This poor girl is in rough shape. She is being treated for fleas, but clearly has been suffering with them for a while. Her belly is red and she has pulled some of her hair out. Throughout this all, she is sweet, friendly and looking for affection. She was brought in with another dog and has been kenneled with the dog with no problems. We do no know how she is with children or cats. It would be our preference to place her in an older quieter home. Perhaps a retired couple looking for a companion, or a senior looking for a new friend to love.
UPDATE: October 6, 1999
Isabelle has been in foster care for about a month now. She is a sweet, loving gentle soul. Isabelle has wonderful house manners. She follows her foster mom from room to room, but has no anxiety about being left alone during the day. She likes to lay out on the deck and watch the world. She doesn’t jump up on people or on furniture. She really is a treasure and would be a great pet for a senior or an individual with a mobility impairment. We hope to have better pictures soon. She is flea free and putting on weight!
UPDATE: October 11, 1999
Lucky Belle! Her foster home has decided to keep her. Their other Springer has finally adjusted to another dog in the house. Belle is so comfortable there. They just could not see disrupting her. She now has a loving forever family. We hope to put up some new pictures soon of a happy healthy Belle.
UPDATE: January 23, 2000
