Original: This beautiful, small, bench bred Springer had been very down on her luck before a wonderful Good Samaritan came her way. Isabelle was the unhappy product of a divorce. She was relegated to the backyard where she became badly infested with fleas and was left to cope with extreme heat. The Good Samaritan heard about her plight and Isabelle’s new life began. After baths, flea treatments, and veterinary care, Princess Isabelle surfaced- patient, gentle, polite, affectionate, and very sweet. Her guardian angel already had three dogs, so she called on MAESSR for help in finding Isabelle the loving home she deserves.
Isabelle has settled in with her MAESSR foster family well. She is house-broken and enjoys the run of the house when home alone. There have been no chewing problems or accidents. Because of her excellent home manners, she has not been tried in a crate yet to see her reaction. She does not counter surf or beg, and she does not mind her foster mom fiddling with her food bowl. She also is a great companion on a road trip.
Isabelle is getting along very well with the two resident male Springers, but the results are still out on how she will do with the three resident cats. There was some initial barking and the desire to chase was definitely present. In her former home, Isabelle lived with children as young as 4 years, but she doesn’t have little ones to play with in her foster home. She pulls somewhat on her leash and knows “sit.” Isabelle’s only flaw so far is that she doesn’t come when called and she is accomplished at bolting out of a door. Until this little gal refines her manners at the door, she will be trailing a leash, even in the house!
Home grooming is a pleasure with Isabelle. She is friendly, calm, and quiet through all. Her guardian angel had said she was excellent while being bathed. She was very patient while her foster mom trimmed up her feet and clipped her nails.
Though not showing symptoms, Isabelle tested positive for Lyme disease and is undergoing treatment. In all other areas she is in very good health. She has an appointment to be spayed and then will be ready for her forever home. That lucky family will be getting a lovely princess and they all will live happily ever after.
