Update 07/14/11:
Sam, the canine formerly known as Iris, has really settled into her foster home. She romps and plays with the other dogs like she has always lived with them. Currently, her favorite game is to play chase with the 9 month old resident Springer. Watching them run like the wind together always brings a smile to Sam’s foster mom’s face. Keeping up with puppy energy is no problem for this girl!
Sam obviously misses the children from her former home. Every time she sees a child, she drags her foster mom over for a visit, and, she’s always reluctant to leave them.
This sweet, seasoned girl is looking for a family to call her own. She would love a home with children and/or another canine sibling. Could Sam fit in with your pack?
Update 05/25/11:
Iris returned to MAESSR because her family had gotten so large that she was not getting enough exercise or attention. The family had renamed Iris after adopting her as a puppy. Her new name is Sam, and, her foster mom has been calling her Sam since she has had that name for seven years – only fair!!
Sam is a very sweet and loving girl. She loves to cuddle and hang out with you. Sam also loves to romp and wrestle with the other springers in her foster home. She is totally house trained, will check out the counters occasionally, and walks well on a leash. Sam loves to ride in the car and thinks if you go anywhere near the car, she has to be going with you for the ride. There are times when she is not the dog who loads up, but that just means more play time with her canine buddies.
She is definitely a sweetie. Her first foster mom saw this quality in Sam when she was a puppy and Sam’s carried her great temperament into adult life. She will quickly and easily fit into an adopting home and would be tickled pink if the family included another dog or dogs and kids. Of course, frequent road trips, long or short, would make her life complete too!
Original:
Iris is a beautiful liver and white Springer and possibly Lab mix. At this point she has green eyes. Iris is the biggest girl in the litter, weighing 9 1/2 pounds at her 6 week checkup.
Iris is usually very laid back. She loves being held and will lay on her back for belly rubs all day long! Iris happens to be her foster Dad’s favorite and he definitely spoils her. She loves when he talks into her ears.
At first Iris’ litter mates would pick on her, but she has learned not to take their bullying. Iris used to hang out by herself, but now she enjoys romping and playing with her litter mates and Springer buddies. She is definitely a sweetie!
