Original: “This is a handsome, sweet guy who really loves attention.”
Hunter came to MAESSR when his Virginia owners’ health prevented them from caring for him and his “sister” Molly.
Hunter was overwhelmed when he moved to his foster home with multiple other dogs. He really did not like the other dogs that got in his face. Foster mom would recommend no other dogs or ones that will stay away from him until he settles in.
This is a handsome, sweet guy who really loves attention. He is housetrained with no submissive urination, does not beg and does not usually jump up. He doesn’t dig or chew inappropriately, but does tear up stuffed toys—a Springer just has to retrieve that noisy squeaker—and what fun they are to shake He is not a noisy dog, but will bark at trucks going by, runners going by and when his family returns home.
Hunter is crated at night. His mom tells him ”bed, bed;” he goes into his crate around 9 p.m. and is let out 7-8 a.m. His original family covered his crate and put a fan on him because he seemed hot.
This young man has not had obedience training and only knows “sit” (and apparently “bed, bed”). He is fine in the car, but needs some help getting in. He can be touched all over–no problem and was good with both the vet and groomer. He was being groomed every six weeks.
Hunter will be looking for a home where he can be an only dog, but one whose people will expose him to some obedience instruction, keep him supplied with stuffed toys and offer him much love. He’s a super nice boy.
