When a Maryland kennel was closing, MAESSR volunteered to place its Springers. Pregnant Aurora was one of these dogs and she whelped three female puppies on July 4—Hope, Love, and Faith. The pups spent their first few months with their mother, then Hope and her sisters were taken to other foster families to continue their training.
Completely housetrained, Hope is a good girl inside. When her foster mom runs errands, Hope calmly stays in the big bathroom and she waits to be let out with no whining. She does not counter-surf and sleeps in her crate all night long beside her foster parents’ bed.
Hope has already learned the commands “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” and “come.” She loves treats when learning new commands. When she is fed, she will sit and wait for her parents to clap their hands and say OK before she gobbles her food. She has had two playmates and once she is comfortable within minutes, they are her new best friends. Hope loves to run in the yard and go for walks. She is learning how to walk with a leash and not pull. Once playtime and walks are over, Hope is very content lying on her bed and her blanket as long as she is near her people!
Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs under 1 year old to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Hope will be a star pupil.
Now, all Hope needs is a forever home where she will receive all of the love, attention, exercise, and training to help her grow into a wonderful adult Springer.
