Original: “Holmes loves a lot of activity and exercise. He really likes to run and play.”
Holmes had lived with his owners in the District of Columbia since he was a puppy. His family had a baby last year, and, unfortunately, the baby is allergic to the dog. The family made the heart-wrenching decision to ask MAESSR to find this love another home.
Holmes is housetrained. He has excellent house manners and through two basic obedience classes his first year, learned the basic commands such as “sit,” “down,” and “stay.”
This fellow loves his walks but still pulls on leash. He is friendly when meeting and greeting people outside on walks about town although he has a tendency to jump in his enthusiasm. “Mr. Watch Dog” does guard the house with barking when visitors approach and first come in, but then calms down.
Holmes loves a lot of activity and exercise. He really likes to run and play. He enjoys visiting the dog park and interacts well with other dogs. He has the best time playing with the other dogs in his foster home.
MAESSR’s new boy rides in the car with a harness and typically rides nicely, but does get a bit “hyper” on occasion. He visited the vet shortly after he arrived in his foster home and did well but was a little anxious there. Since he has exhibited some anxiety on a few other occasions, he was started on an inexpensive supplement to reduce the nervousness. He seems much more at ease now.
Holmes is such a sweet, loving teddy bear. If you are looking for a great cuddler who will also enjoy walking, running and playing, Holmes is the one for you. Best to have a Springer for all the great times coming up this spring!!
