Original: “Although nothing is known about her past, Holiday is a happy, kind Springer who will make some family really happy!”
Holiday arrived at her MAESSR foster home along with her four month old puppy Cheer from a shelter in northern West Virginia where they had been found as strays. Mother and son have both settled in quickly and became immediate friends with the three resident dogs. A very good mother, Holiday protects her “little one” when necessary but shows no aggression to the other dogs and enjoys their company, especially on walks or playing in the garden!
Housetrained and crate trained, Holiday uses the doggie door in her foster home when she needs to go out. She is comfortable in her crate at night and when her foster family is out of the house. She is quite happy being apart from her puppy while crated. No doubt she enjoys having some time to herself! Holiday just needs to be reminded not to jump on the sofa when she thinks nobody is looking!
A very bright young lady, Holiday has already learned the commands “sit,” “come,” “lie down,’” and “shake hands” in her first few days with her foster family! She likes to go on walks and walks well on a leash. When it is time to ride in the car, she is an excellent passenger.
Holiday has a wonderful temperament and is friendly with everyone she has met. Even at her vet appointment when the vet was cleaning her really itchy, yeast-infected ears, her tail never stopped wagging! The vet indicated that she is in great condition and she will be spayed soon. Holiday was very good at the groomer. She was fine with being brushed and was even good with the hair dryer. Her foster parents used the dremel on her nails and she was cooperative. What a good girl!
Not much of a player, Holiday will sometimes dig into the toy box for a squeaky toy, but she does not obsess over her toys. She will occasionally engage the resident dogs in play since they are comfortable with each other.
Although nothing is known about her past, Holiday is a happy, kind Springer who will make some family really happy!
