Original: “Herbie is a fun-loving, active, impulsive Springer boy. His enthusiasm for life will keep his new owner smiling!”
Herbie’s Pennsylvania owner made the extremely difficult decision to find him another home when she realized that hers was not the perfect fit for Herbie. She had tried everything she could think of, but never reached the point that both of them were happy. She contacted MAESSR and Herbie began a new life.
Herbie is a fun-loving, active, impulsive Springer boy. His enthusiasm for life will keep his new owner smiling! When he arrived at his foster home, he had a bad habit of jumping up on people especially as they were walking away. While adorable, it hurt when his nails made contact with skin. His foster mom has been working on this and it happens far less often now.
Herbie is also extremely nosey. If his foster mom walks in the house with a bag, he immediately tries to stick his head in it because it might be for him! He also wants to be involved in everything his foster parents are doing, sticking his head in the center of activity or sprawling on them. Probably the cutest thing Herbie does is watch tv. He will bark at dogs he sees and at horses (foster mom thinks Herbie believes they are big dogs).
Herbie is housetrained, crated trained, and likes to ride in the car. He will pull on the leash at the beginning of a walk but settles in quickly. He has nice house manners but will counter-surf if the opportunity presents. At night he likes to sleep in the big bed with his foster parents. If there is not enough room there, he will settle for a dog bed next to the big bed.
There are multiple other dogs in his foster home and Herbie runs and plays with them, having a blast! Most of all, Herbie loves attention from his people. He will let them love on him for hours!
Herbie’s perfect home would have no children under 13 since he may accidentally knock over younger ones in his exuberance. He needs an active family that wants to play with their dog and share lots of cuddle time with him.
