Original: “Sweet Gracie LOVES children and thinks they are just the best!”
Gracie Lou came to MAESSR when her Pennsylvania family came to the realization that this very high energy girl was too much for their lives at this time. They were concerned that she was getting frustrated from not getting enough exercise and her anxiety was getting worse. They felt it was in Gracie’s best interest to find a home where her needs could be met.
Gracie is housetrained and has excellent house manners. As such, she is given free roam of the house when her foster family is not home. She is not crated trained but that hasn’t mattered due to her good behavior. At night she sleeps in the big bed with her foster parents.
When she came into foster care, she was well-trained as her former dad had spent many hours schooling her. Gracie walks well on the leash and she knows the commands “place,” “side,” “down,” “middle,” “over,” “in and out,” “leave it,” and “break.” Gracie loves to learn which is great since it helps tire out her mind making her calmer. She also rides well in the car.
Gracie LOVES toys. She will get too excited at times and tear up stuffed toys. She also loves to run and play with the other dogs in her foster home.
At her vet appointment, Gracie was very well-behaved. Since she was very nervous, the vet just went slowly with her and everything went well. Everyone she met there loved her.
When anyone new comes into her foster home, Gracie will bark but settles quickly, just needing a couple of minutes to compose herself. Then, she wants love and attention! Sweet Gracie LOVES children and thinks they are just the best!
Gracie’s forever home needs to be prepared to make sure this sweet girl gets enough exercise. She can play all day, but about 9 pm, it is bed time. Her new family should have a fenced yard so Gracie can safely run and play. Having a couple of kids (or at least older kids that visit frequently) would be a plus in her mind! You will be forever thankful that you brought this active love-bug into your family!
