Original: Fudgie is an owner relinquishment to MAESSR. He was purchased as a puppy from a pet store and has lived with 3 school age children, another dog, a cat, and fish. With the busyness of the household, there wasn’t enough time to give Fudgie the attention he wanted from his people or the obedience training he needed. With another child on the way, his family was concerned that Fudgie had a limited quality of life with them and would be a happier boy if he could have a new beginning. At about 48 pounds, Fudgie is a healthy and very handsome fellow. He has spent a lot of time in the sun, so his coat shows signs of discoloration, but he should grow out of his summer cut into an even color.
Fudgie is housebroken and has been wonderful in his foster family’s home. He gets along well with other dogs and people and absolutely loves to swim! In his first visit at the dog park, he got along with everyone and every dog. He doesn’t seem to know how to play with toys, and, his foster family suspects he may never have had any doggie toys before. They can easily see his very sweet disposition and know he is reveling in all the attention he has been getting from them.
The perfect adopting family for Fudgie would sign up for a basic obedience class with him very shortly after he has had time to settle in with them. He has had no formal obedience training and, in addition to bonding more quickly with his family, he would surely thrive on the one-on-one attention he would get through working on basic skills. Of course, he needs the love that comes with being part of a family. In return, he will give back much love and affection and companionship. Can you give Fudgie the home he deserves?
