Original: Freya and her sister Troika were relinquished to MAESSR by their West Virginia family because they were fighting each other. Their family had three small children and three puppies. Their foster mom believes that the puppies were taking advantage of not enough structure in the household. Since they have come into foster care, there have been no fights between the sisters. They are both in the same foster home where there is a LOT of structure and rules. The girls seem to be thriving in this environment.
One of the requirements of adopting a MAESSR springer under the age of one year is that the adopting family will take the pup through at least one set of obedience classes. Since Freya and Troika need the structure, the adopting homes will be required to take them through two sets of obedience classes. This will be a wonderful bonding opportunity for Freya and her new family.
Freya is a very sweet girl that loves children and people. She will jump up on her foster family members at any opportunity to cuddle and get some love. She has been great with all of the dogs in her foster home, too. Freya is crate trained and appears to be housetrained as well. Although she does not seem to know any commands, she wants to please. She loves the water and had a great time playing in a stream recently.
Her forever family is going to have to put a little work into her, but she is more than worth it!
