A puppy mill in Pennsylvania was being shut down by the state. As we understood it, the owner will be setting up a new business in New York. However, he is selling all of his breed stock.
In an uncharacteristic move, MAESSR we bought the only Springer that he has. While we are giving money to a puppy miller, we are saving this dog from death or sale to another puppy miller.
After our volunteer talked to the owner, someone else called about the dog. He refused to sell the dog to him because the dog was promised to Tracy. So, this Springer had a near miss.
In recognition of that and the tragic attacks on September 11, we have named her Freedom.
Freedom was pulled this weekend. She’s been to a vet and is considered in good health. She is a shy girl who has never lived in a house. She will be in foster care for a while as she learns much needed social skills
