Original: Fred and his kennel mates Bob and Jessie were part of a business deal in Maryland. Their kennels were being sold including the contents, namely Fred, Jessie, and Bob! The purchaser of the kennels contacted MAESSR to help these Springers find loving forever homes.
Fred is a very sweet boy who is pleasantly baffled at the recent changes in his life. He is coping by being a true Velcro Springer clinging to his foster mom for dear life! Somewhat fearful of people when they first come into the house, Fred warms up to them after a few minutes. Then, he sits politely in front of the visitors and waits for his pat or hug.
Although moving from a kennel to a house was a culture shock for this shy boy, Fred is beginning to appreciate the warm comfort of being indoors and now is somewhat reluctant to go outside any longer than it take him to do his business. When he came to his foster home, Fred was not housebroken, but his housetraining is going well since he was neutered. He is not crate trained but that is not an issue in his foster home. Considering he lived in a kennel all his life; his house manners are good. Fred does not counter surf or trash dive and he does not get up on the furniture. No inappropriate chewing has been observed, either. As for toys, Fred doesn’t know what they are for. At night he sleeps beside his foster parent’s bed.
Fred will come when called, but knows no other commands. He walks beside you very quietly when on a leash walk. Riding in a car is still a new experience for Fred and he is still a little uncomfortable about it. Quite the cuddly boy, Fred just enjoys being close to his foster mom, leaning against her leg while dinner is being prepared. He loves to be brushed and has no problems with his feet or ears being handled. He is a good eater, but will not take food from your hand.
His personally is beginning to emerge as he becomes more comfortable in his foster home, and he promises to be quite a character. Watch for more on this sweet boy!
