Before a Springer breeder in Virginia died, she specified that she wanted MAESSR to place the dogs in her kennel. One of the females was pregnant when she came into foster care and she subsequently gave birth to six puppies. Franz is one of this litter and he is now ready to find his new home.
Is that puppy breath wafting through the air? Indeed! Franz and his littermates are enjoying life as puppies should—playing and eating and sleeping.
A good eater, Franz is always the first one to finish his dinner but also the first one to fall asleep. That’s what a fellow has to do when he has a full tummy! When he gets a bath, Franz behaves nicely letting his foster mom and dad carry out their bathing duties.
Franz and his siblings recently went to the vet to be weighed and have their first puppy shots. Everyone is healthy and gaining weight appropriately. The vet techs found Franz to be particularly sweet and handsome with his long eyelashes! Franz loved all of the attention he was getting from these ladies! Trips to the vet are fun days out for the pups and Franz rides well in the car with his brothers and sisters.
Franz and his siblings play with a ball under supervision and he seems to enjoy this. All the puppies play very nicely with each other without excessive biting or growling. While he has not met the resident cats, Franz loves the older resident dogs. When their foster parents are out of the house, the puppies are in their room in a penned-in area of the house.
Potential adopters should note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and under to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption.
Since the puppies have not had all of their puppy shots yet, they have not been taken into the yard. They eliminate on puppy pads for now; housetraining will have to wait for a bit.
When Franz bats those long eyelashes at you, you are sure to fall in love!
