Flash has had a hard life. Humane Society workers removed him from an abusive home in Pennsylvania where he had not been properly cared for. Living in filth, poor Flash was dirty and severely matted when found. Neighbors did not even know that he lived with this family; he was never seen outside. Shelter staff workers contacted MAESSR for assistance since Flash was so scared from the noise there. They knew he would do much better in a MAESSR foster home.
Blossoming in foster care, Flash is a very friendly boy who loves the attention he is receiving. Although shy at first, he warms up quickly to either humans or animals and he loves to play! Flash is currently living with three other dogs and a nine-year-old child and he loves them all! He has done well with visitors as young as four, too. To get attention, Flash lays his head on his human’s lap and absolutely loves being petted.
Crate-trained and housetrained, Flash is calm inside and has good house manners. He is not a chewer nor does he counter-surf or get into the trash. When his foster family is out, Flash awaits their return in his crate. This sweet dog does well on a leash and loves walks. He comes when called and he is learning the commands sit and stay. He responds appropriately to a firm no if he is doing anything inappropriate.
Flash allows his foster family to touch him all over with no problems; it’s more attention for him! With no contrary bone in his body, he does not mind if his people handle his food or take a treat from him, either. And when given a treat, he takes it gently. Good boy, Flash! At seven, Flash is just learning about toys – something obviously new to him and he is enjoying all that his foster family lavishes on him, especially balls.
This great dog is waiting for his forever home and to have the life he deserves. How about sharing your heart and home with Flash?
