Original: Flash is a beautiful boy who just wants the attention he knows he deserves! He loves to run outside and play-wrestles with the other dogs in his foster house. He gets along well with the 13-month-old puppy, the “matron” of the group, and the 100-pound Golden Retriever. He tried to intimidate the other Springer, but when that didn’t work, Flash decided to just ignore him. Flash also likes to play tug-of-war with any of the dogs he can get to hang on to the end of the rope.
Flash is housebroken and crate trained, though he’s not really crazy about the crate. With training, he’s getting better and will now go in and wait for his treat. The crate is only used at night and when his foster family leaves home. The rest of the time, Flash enjoys having the run of the house.
There is a 14-year-old daughter in his foster home that Flash does very good with. He’s met more kids of all ages in the neighborhood and did well too, but because he’s big and “springy”, his foster mom feels he would live best with children who are preschool age or older. He’s great in the car. He rides in a crate in the back without a peep. When his foster mom first picked him up, it was after work, and her carpool buddies were amazed at how good he was! Now, you’d better watch out. If the car door is open, he’ll jump right in, sit there, and look at you as if saying, “I’m ready!”
The couch is not a magnet for Flash, but he will get on a bed until you tell him “down”. He will try to counter surf, but a firm “no” puts him back on his best behavior. Flash knows “come”, “sit”, “stay”, and “bed”, as in “go to your doggie bed.” He wants to learn and will do whatever you ask, just so he can be near you. He is a classy, young dog who was relinquished to MAESSR by a very well-intentioned family. They had taken him in after an abandonment, without knowing too much about Springers. They quickly learned that Flash is a very smart boy who needs a lot of attention and exercise to be a happy, well-adjusted pup. He loves to swim and go for walks. When busy by day, he will sleep well at night and be a loving, loyal, family member. He’s a great big boy, with a great big heart just waiting for someone to love! Rub his ears and/or belly and he’s yours forever!
