Original: “This sweetheart loves attention and, like most springers, wants to be right with you.”
Flame was given to MAESSR by her owner who needed to move and could not take her with him. Originally from Maryland, Flame now resides with her foster family and four other dogs, including three Springers and one golden doodle. Flame has done extremely well with the resident dogs; she gets along with all of them. Keeping up with the 2 young Springers is something she can do too. She doesn’t show any aggression or guarding issues with toys or food. Her foster family can not say enough positive things about her! This is one super Springer!! Flame is a trained bird/field dog and loves to be in the woods. This past weekend her foster family took her into state game lands and “wow” did this Springer have fun!! This sweet girl may be ten years old but she has a lot of life in her.
Flame is very well-trained, knows many commands and responds 100 percent of the time. She has been off leash, will stay right with you and “sits” when directed to do so. Flame is doing well with children also. There is a nine year-old in her foster home that she likes a lot. Her family has a 3 foot gate in one room of the house and Flame decided she wanted to join the young son in the room to play. Easy enough……she just jumped the gate! She’s not playing with toys in her foster home yet but will chase balls and bring them back………good girl!!
This sweetheart loves attention and, like most springers, wants to be right with you. She will come and sit by your side for attention and for love!! Flame has not done much barking, except to signal a need to use the potty. She is very good at asking to go out. There is no counter-surfing with this girl. She does like comfy spots at nap time, preferably on furniture, and is lucky to have landed with a family that allows this……:)). Because of her sterling manners, Flame is not crated during the day when the foster parents are away or at night.
Though sensitive about having her feet handled and without real fondness of ear cleaning, Flame is good with brushing. She is doing very well in the car, just lying on the seat for the ride to where ever she’s going.
With her peak hunting seasons behind her, Flame really likes to sit by your side with her head in your lap now. Flame’s foster family just adores her and feels she would be a wonderful addition to a home that is looking for an older-but-active sweet Springer. Once you meet Flame, you will be hooked on her.
