Original: “When meeting the vet and the groomer, Fiona was a wonderful girl. Everyone who meets this sweetie talks about what a lovely, Velcro girl she is!”
Fiona is a beautiful Springer girl who was rescued originally from a shelter in San Antonio, Texas. The family was only going to foster Fiona until a forever home could be found, but felt pressured to keep her. No longer having the time or the resources to care for her, the family found it necessary to find Fiona a new home.
A little shy and submissive at first, once Fiona gets to know a human she is extremely sweet and friendly. When scared (for example, if scolded), her submissive nature causes her to sink to the floor and perhaps piddle a bit. Her foster family has only seen this occur once, when she first came into foster care.
Fiona is highly food motivated, so this would be an excellent way for an adoptive family to shape behaviors they prefer. Very good with children as young as toddlers, Fiona also is good with other dogs, cats, and chickens. She actually helped the former owners herd the chickens! She loves to be outdoors and loves to swim. Fiona likes to run loose, but needs a fence to keep her from straying.
Although she has never been to obedience school, Fiona knows the commands “sit” and “down.” She is housetrained and crate trained. This well-behaved girl is not destructive and does not chew inappropriately. She walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. When meeting the vet and the groomer, Fiona was a wonderful girl. Everyone who meets this sweetie talks about what a lovely, Velcro girl she is!
The only thing missing in Fiona’s life is a family to call her own. Sweet Fiona would make a wonderful addition to almost any family and would like to join yours!
