Original: “Finn loves to walk on the leash. He will pull a little at the beginning of the walk, but quickly calms down.”
Finn came to MAESSR from a Virginia shelter. He had been relinquished because he was not getting along with the young child in his home.
When he arrived at his foster home, Finn was a matted mess, so his foster mom started shaving his coat and he seems much more comfortable with his new hairdo. He was wonderful for the entire grooming session.
A very sweet, funny little Cocker Spaniel, Finn is housetrained and crate trained but he does not seem to know any commands. To help him in his obedience training, MAESSR will be requiring him to attend one series of obedience classes within 90 days of adoption. Beyond teaching him the basic commands, this will help him to bond to his new family, too.
Finn loves to walk on the leash. He will pull a little at the beginning of the walk, but quickly calms down. He rides well in the car and is always up for a trip. Such a good boy!
When he went to the vet, Finn was very well-behaved. Testing showed he had a significant urinary tract infection and he was Erlichea positive. Since he is not symptomatic for the Erlichea, the vet felt he needn’t be treated for that at this time. He is receiving a course of antibiotics for his UTI and he is good about taking his meds.
Finn was showing some anxiety when he first came to his foster home. So, he was started on an inexpensive supplement to help him settle. He will be required to be on this supplement for at least 90 days after adoption.
Delighted with the toys that abound in his foster home, Finn has been trying each one out. He really likes to play with toys! After all of that playing, his favorite place to sleep at night is in the big bed with his foster parents.
This sweet Cocker boy is looking for a family without young children to share the rest of his life with. He has lots of kisses to share!
