Original: “He is a special boy that loves to be with his people either lying at their side or cuddling close after invitation”
Finley is a sweet soul that came into rescue when he was picked up as a stray in North Carolina. He is a special boy that loves to be with his people either lying at their side or cuddling close after invitation. He is housetrained and has not had any accidents in his foster home. While he is not yet crate trained, his foster family is helping him learn that the crate is a safe place. He is trusted free during the day in his new home.
Finley knows the basic commands “sit,” “down,” “off,” and “come.” He doesn’t bark excessively, counter-surf, or chew anything inappropriate. He walks well on leash with his mom although he is a good sized dog. He is fed twice a day alongside his little buddy, the resident Papillion/Chihuahua mix and shows no resource guarding.
Finley likes the company of his new friend and has learned to tailor his play as to not injure his 9 pound foster brother. He loves to play fetch with toys and balls are his favorite!
The new boy in the house rides well in the car and was a gentleman for the vet. He has been bathed and brushed by the six year old in his new home and loved it! His coat is very low maintenance, and he will not need any trips to the groomer for haircuts.
Finley is very adaptable and would do great in a variety of households. He likes the company of others, so it would be ideal if he could have a furry companion to share his time with when his humans are away. Finley is “the perfect dog!” Spending time with him is an absolute pleasure for his fosters. He will make some lucky family very happy!
