Original: Farley is a handsome bench bred springer boy. He had been on hold for four months in a local shelter because of a court case. His coat was in need of much attention and he was a perfect gentleman about being brushed and bathed and groomed. He REALLY enjoys being in a home environment again, playing with toys, sleeping on soft doggy beds, getting petted, and relaxing in a quiet lifestyle.
Farley is a bit deaf, but he is still able to hear a loud call or whistle. He is in good health, but is being treated for whipworms at this time and is on an antibiotic for a cough. He appears to be housetrained and enjoys going into his crate to chew a bone or to snooze. He does not counter surf, nor is he aggressive about his food or dog bones. His leash manners are good. Farley gets along well with other dogs in his foster home and ignores the resident cats. He has not met any children yet.
After his long stay at the shelter, Farley is a bit on the chunky side, so he needs to get back into shape. He also seems to be a bit weak in the hind quarters, but that just may be due to a lack of exercise. So far, it has kept him from making any overtures at getting up on the furniture, but this may not last long!! He sleeps soundly in a dog bed in his foster parents’ bedroom. He is a tremendously sweet and even-tempered dog and will adapt easily into many homes. His only flaw so far is that he is gassy, but no boy is perfect! More on Farley as he settles into his new beginning.
