Original: “Eric is a fun loving, happy puppy who enjoys being in the house investigating each new sound.”
When a Maryland breeder decided to close his kennel, MAESSR stepped in to help with the placement of the dogs. And so, Eric became a MAESSR boy with a comfortable foster home and live-in Springer cousins.
This gorgeous ten-month old boy is a stunning young Springer with a wonderful temperament. Eric is a fun loving, happy puppy who enjoys being in the house investigating each new sound. He craves attention and will push all the resident dogs out of the way to get any loving from the 2-legged folks. At times this creates some grumbling from the resident dogs who have already worked out their place in the family. Eric is rather obsessed with the resident mini Dachshund. They wrestle and play, and Eric understands the clues warning him he is getting too rough. It’s all part of bringing up the puppy!
The handsome young one is doing well with housetraining. He has been trusted up to four hours in a gated area–he does protest with a bark at first–and is sleeping quietly in his crate each night. Eric has learned “sit,” and seems to be watching the house dogs to understand appropriate behavior. He is a champion counter-surfer with his long legs. Leash walking is progressing, but Eric will need obedience classes to further bond with his people and learn acceptable house manners.
Puppies like this cutie require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs under 1 year old to enroll their puppy in obedience classes within 60 days of adoption. Eric will be on a fast-track plan and will be required to take two series of obedience classes to get him up to speed.
Although he has not had the opportunity to meet any children or cats yet, Eric is good with the four resident dogs, male and female. He was great for the groomer and was also friendly and happy at the vet. This darling boy loves treats and toys, but would rather be sitting on the lap of his favorite person.
MAESSR’s new pup is just a bundle of fun, love, and Springer kisses. He’ll need a family who can give him much exercise, guide his puppy enthusiasm to help him be the best Springer he can be, and welcome him onto their laps for as much love as he can give to them and they can return to him.
