Original: Emmy’s original family moved and could not take her with them, so she was given to a second family. Her second family contacted a shelter when they were fed up with her housebreaking issues. The shelter was unable to take her in but contacted MAESSR. She briefly spent time in 2 other homes before being transported to her current foster home in Wilmington. All have agreed she is a sweetheart. Emmy likes to curl up next to you, rest her head on your lap, and go to sleep. She also enjoys laying on her back and having her belly rubbed. Emmy is her foster mom’s shadow following her room-to-room.
Emmy had a visit to the vet and was a perfect patient. She is up to date on her vaccinations, is heartworm negative, but has a urinary tract infection (which explains the housebreaking issue). She has not had any accidents in the house since starting her medication and lets us know whenever she has to go outside.
Emmy gets along great with the other Springer in the house. They like to chase each other in the backyard. Although we have not seen her around kids, both of her previous owners had children and said Emmy got along great with them. She likes to pull when on a leash but we are working with her. She is also in the process of learning to sit and shake. Emmy is not interested in toys but enjoys chew-eez and biscuits.
Update: Emmy’s foster family couldn’t bear to be without her, and she now lives happily ever after with them.
