Even for a dog-loving family, an unanticipated litter of puppies can bring equal parts excitement and worry. Eddie’s Pennsylvania owners were successful in finding homes for most of his littermates, but when they were left with him and his brothers Wesley and Hardy, they turned to MAESSR for help.
A smart and sweet little guy, Eddie came to his foster home crate-trained and now he is progressing with his housetraining. With a number of resident Springers of diverse ages in his foster home, Eddie has good role models to follow in the training process. They are also teaching him proper dog etiquette within the pack. Eddie is learning basic commands such as “sit,” “come,” “off,” and “down” by imitating the big dogs and by working with his foster mom. Like most young pups, his leash training is still a work in progress. A requirement for all puppies adopted from MAESSR is that they attend an obedience class with their forever family. Eddie is eager to learn and loves to please his people; he’ll surely make an excellent student.
If your family has the time to train a wonderful Springer pup for a lifetime of happiness, Eddie might be the one you’ve been seeking!
