Duke is another boy who is brand new into rescue. Duke is good with dogs and children. He does and will chase cats, so he needs a “cat-free” home.
Duke was fostered for a short time in West Virginia before coming to MAESSR. That foster home said that Duke likes to snuggle and eats well – what Springer doesn’t? He isn’t aggressive with the other dogs. As his stitches healed, his foster mom let him discipline the dog that was to hump him. Duke did it just fine – told him “no” and then backed off.
He’s really very nice, crate-trained, comes when called (mostly – unless sees a bird or squirrel) but that’s a sporting dog thing so not unusual. Overall I think with the right home and dedication he can be an awesome companion.
