Duffy was purchased by as a 9-week-old puppy. He grew up out in the country with an older ESS and a four-year-old terrier. In general the other two dogs didn”t care much for Duffy, and as he reached his teenage years, the terrier especially disliked him. In order to keep peace in the family, a relative took Duffy to live in the city. Poor Duffy did not adjust to city living and the new owner worked long hours. Sadly, the decision was made to relinquish Duffy to MAESSR.
Since coming into his foster home, Duffy had a few squabbles with the three resident dogs. The problems were occurring over food sources and toys in his crate. Things have turned around dramatically after his pint-sized foster sister took control of the situation. So, no more food or toys are left in the crate while the dogs are loose in the house. Because of all this initial conflict, foster mom feels Duffy would do best as an only dog.
Duffy loves to run and play in the fenced yard with his foster sister. He also enjoys a good game of tug and tag. Duffy knows many commands and is very obedient. He has good house manners, and does not trash pick or counter surf. Duffy jumps up on people and furniture, but he gets down when asked. He goes right into his crate when it is time for foster mom to go to work. Duffy is a very good car rider and sleeps most of the time. He has shown no signs of aggression towards people.
Duffy is a very handsome boy with a cute Springer smile and a tail that never stops wagging. He is a tall, lean fieldie with the right amount of energy for his age. He will run and play very vigorously for about twenty minutes and then settles down nicely.
Do you have a home for this sweet boy?
