Original: Dudley is in excellent health other than a few ear infections. He weighs 40lbs. He has never shown any aggression toward people or other animals and has experience with kids ages 12, 10, 8 and has been good with other kids of all ages including toddlers.
Dudley is good with cats. Dudley can be anxious when he is left alone but has been left for up to 5 hours. He will bark at times when on a leash being walked and if left alone in the backyard. Also, he will pull on the leash even though he is wearing a prong collar but will not run off when playing ball in an unfenced area. He will countersurf if no one is around.
He is excited to meet visitors and may jump up on them. He is used to a fenced yard and does not jump the fence. He does not dig, chew, or beg for food. He is crate trained but his family felt that he does not need it and did not use it. He is housetrained.
Dudley knows sit and down and that “out” means to leave the room. He drinks from the toilet and may dip into the trash if it is out. He went swimming once and seemed to like it. He likes to play with tennis balls and tug rope.
Without calling MAESSR or giving us an opportunity to help, his owners put Dudley to sleep.
Update: Good and bad news. Our information was incorrect. Apparently, Dudley was not put down, he was taken to a shelter. We have been in touch with the shelter. They have someone interested in adopting him. We will continue to monitor him and pull him if necessary.
