Original: Domino’s owners reluctantly relinquished her to MAESSR because they felt unable to provide her with enough attention due to travel and busy schedules. Having been with them since she was 10- weeks old, she enjoyed very good care and much love in their home. She is a beautiful field bred Springer with a lush white coat. It’s splashed with lots of freckles and some black spotting. A plus is that her foster mom hasn’t noticed any shedding from that coat!
Weighing in at a solid 53 pounds, Domino is a well-nourished, and healthy, lady. She is well housebroken. The only incident she has had in her foster home was a bit of a “piddle” when she got very excited. She benefits from a daily medication that is quite effective in managing incontinence and eagerly accepts her dose every morning in a piece of cheese.
Domino has been the perfect little lady in her foster home. She is very well-mannered and somewhat on the quiet side for a Springer. She loves to lounge around and have her ears and belly rubbed. She will whine a bit if she wants attention or needs to go outside. She doesn’t get on furniture unless invited, and at night, she prefers the floor. She doesn’t trash pick, beg, counter surf, chew household items, or jump on humans. Her manners are really exemplary!!
As she has settled, her foster family is seeing that Domino has a very sensitive side. When her foster parents have company, she can be a little timid initially with strangers. She will run from children, vacuums, and crackling or popping noises. She does not like to be crated, and fortunately because of her good manners, she can be trusted with her liberty in the house for several hours.
Domino loves to run free and will stay very near her foster mom and dad when off leash. She is like a dainty princess, moving very gracefully and gingerly. She loves her walks as well. She will pull on a leash, so her foster mom uses a Gentle Leader halter for their outings. Domino is a very good listener and knows her basic commands, including “sit”, “paw”, “stay”, “down”, and “lay down.”
Domino’s foster mom calls her “Domino sugar” because she is so sweet. Her mom feels she would enjoy being placed in a peaceful, or, at least not too chaotic, home without children. She needs a family that is home much of the time so she can have lots of the attention she so deserves. Domino can be a gentle, devoted companion where calm and security allow her to flourish. She has no special needs at all, just a bit of tranquility. Ready to share yours with her?
