Dino received quite a Christmas present in 2010 – he became a MAESSR boy! Now he is on the path to finding a loving forever home that he so deserves. He had been rescued from living in a shed in Pennsylvania only to be given away to a family who left him to wander alone and cold in the streets. Animal control took him to a shelter that has a good relationship with MAESSR and the rest is history.
This darling, energetic Springer boy very quickly adapted to living inside! Having a nice, warm house and lots of good food plus loving foster parents obviously suits Dino well! Dino (pronounced Deano) is both crate trained and housebroken, signaling his need to go out by going to the door. When his mission is complete, he returns after checking out the back yard. He enjoys living with the two mature, resident Springers, but has not been child or cat tested. A very affectionate pup, Dino loves his tummy rubs and he will stand still for any petting or grooming. Watch out for those kisses!
Dino loves to play Frisbee and go jogging with his foster parents. Being only one year old, he plays hard, then curls up for a nap, gets up, and plays again. He sleeps in his crate all night and only chews his bones and rawhides. Obedience class is a must for this pup to learn basics and to not pull on a leash since he is very strong. MAESSR requires this training for all adopted Springers a year and younger. Dino’s foster parents think he is exceptionally intelligent and that he will be a star pupil! He is learning to respect the four on the floor rule in the kitchen as he had shown himself to be a counter-surfer in the making. Although he travels well in the car, Dino would like to drive, so his forever family will have to make it clear to him that only people can get a driver’s license.
This active, intelligent boy will require lots of exercise in his forever home and something challenging to do. Besides jogging and Frisbee, he needs an activity that requires him to figure out or solve a problem.
Dino will make an excellent companion for an active family!
