Dale is a sweet field bred boy who was turned into the shelter as a stray. He loves people and kids. He can be a little dominant around other dogs but does well with softer dogs. Dale won’t start a fight but is not so good about walking away.
Unlike many of our dogs, we have ALL of Dale’s health records and his papers from the breeder. The owners never sent the registration in for the AKC papers, but it gives all of Dale’s history. He is house and crate-trained but would prefer a blanket on the floor or a doggie bed. But he will go in.
Dale LOVES to play with tennis balls and stuffed toys. He listens very well and can sit, lay down, come, etc.
Dale is shy around men, but will come around if approached gently.
Dale loves to run. He has tried to chase chickens but stopped as soon as his foster mom yelled his name. He loves pig ears. Dale needs a little work on his swimming skills but seems to like getting wet.
In his old home the family had a two-year-old, and Dale seemed to do really well with this child. He LOVES to snuggle and get close. He is very scared of thunderstorms. He was trained by his previous owners to ring a bell on the door knob when he wanted back in the house from going out to go to the bathroom. He is a great dog.
Dale was turned into the shelter for fighting with his litter mate. He is dominant with male dogs but will play with females. We don’t know about cats. Because of this aggression, Dale will not be placed in a home that currently has another male dog.
