Daisy has been in three homes in her young life, and now she is looking for her furever home. Her foster mom was finally able to spring her from the New Jersey shelter where she had just spent three weeks. Daisy was so happy to be out of there that she showered her foster mom and shelter worker with kisses as she left!
Daisy is housebroken, but she needs work on her other house manners. She will countersurf, jump up on people, and explore the trash. After only a week, she is starting to get the message that these are not acceptable Springer behaviors and there is improvement in those areas. Daisy is a very smart girl; she learned her commands sit, stay, and down in just a few days. She rides very quietly in the car in her crate. She does weave and pull on the leash, but with time and work this should also improve. This silly girl is crate-trained and goes in with her stuffed toy and kong. At night, she sleeps on a dog bed next to her foster mom.
When Daisy is off-leash playing with other dogs, she is very good, but she does bark at them while on leash. At a fall MAESSR picnic, she ran like the wind but always came back to her foster mom when called. Daisy would probably make a good hunting dog or field tracking dog; her nose was to the ground the entire time she was in the country. She might also be a good agility dog. Her ideal forever home would have either a fenced yard where she can run several times a day or a big yard so she can run free – supervised, of course!
Daisy loves to be hugged and petted; she is just starved for attention. Her excitement for life and her activity level would be too much for toddlers, so children over eight years should be ok. This sweetie would like to live with another young, active dog or as an only. As far as cats go, she is curious with them but does not chase them.
Daisy is full of life and her butt never stops wiggling. She is looking for a forever home that will spend time with her, give her guidance and love – is that you?
