Original: Daisy came to MAESSR from an owner who didn’t have the time to meet the energy demands of a young Springer. Also, Daisy was not a good fit with the senior dogs in her original house.
Daisy is a very energetic girl who is smart, obedient and eager to please. She gets along with all of the human members of her foster family, but she is not thrilled that she has to share attention with yet another senior Springer. She grumbles at the resident Springer when he is by her food bowl. Daisy adores attention and doesn’t like sharing her people with anyone else. She thinks she would like to be the only dog in her new family. Daisy gets very excited when people she hasn’t met before come to the door. She greets them with a verbal hello that is sometimes followed by submissive urination. With people she already knows, Daisy does not have this problem.
Daisy loves her foster family’s large fenced yard and she will run and play for long periods of time. Rabbits and squirrels beware! Daisy has the hunter within her and her foster mom thinks that she would probably chase cats as she has chased other critters in the back yard. Her quickness along with all of her other great attributes make her a prime candidate for agility training after some basic obedience classes. Daisy is not at all interested in toys although she will play fetch with a ball. Why would a Springer girl want to play with toys when she has all the wonderful smells on the ground to sniff? As she is very obedient and loves to be near to her people, she is trustworthy off leash as her original owners said. “Sit” and “come” are essentials that Daisy knows and she is being taught “heel” as she is learning to walk on a leash now. Daisy hadn’t been taken on leashed walks by her original family.
Daisy has lovely house manners. She is not crated and has the run of the house since she is such a good girl. She is reliable through the night, is completely housebroken, and has not had any accidents since being in foster care. When bedtime comes, she sleeps on a dog bed in her foster parents’ bedroom. In the kitchen, Daisy has not counter-surfed or begged for food. If you mention the word “treat,” she immediately sits very quietly and waits for her goodie. Daisy’s good manners extend to riding in the car, too. Her foster mom reports that she is a very good passenger.
Her foster mom feels Daisy has a TON of potential! She will make an awesome addition to someone’s family. Does your family need this fresh flower to add to its bouquet of family members? Then, pick this Daisy!
