Original: Daisy is a delightful young pup with a full, wagging tail. She came to MAESSR from a shelter in eastern Pennsylvania where her family had relinquished her because of their economic difficulties. She is friendly and outgoing with people and other dogs. In her original home Daisy lived with 3 children, the youngest of whom was 7 years. The parents reported that she did well with everyone in the family as well as cats.
When greeting people, either jumping up and putting her front feet on people, or jumping in the air high enough to give them a kiss on the lips! Her foster mom is working with her on that behavior. Daisy can spring straight up into the air with the best of them!
This is a curious girl who will check out the counters and tables to see what’s there, but she has never stolen anything off of the counters. She does not bother the trash cans nor does she chew inappropriately. Daisy does want everyone to know that she is completely housetrained! Good girl!!! Daisy’s immediate project is to work on her leash skills and her commands. While she is very responsive to her name, the only command she knows is “sit.” She does that very reliably.
Daisy just loves to play “with people, other dogs, toys”– it doesn’t matter. She can be boisterous and sometimes forgets to use her “inside voice.” She can also forget about furniture when she is busy playing fetch with a toy. When her foster mom tosses the toy down the hallway, Daisy goes up and over the sofa to retrieve it, instead of running around the sofa. Sofa? What sofa?
Small, confined places are favorites of Daisy, so she does very well in her crate. Her foster mom makes sure she remains used to being in her crate, although Daisy is given free run of the house with the resident springer while her foster mom is at work. Daisy’s foster mom has discovered that if you can’t find Daisy, make sure you look under the bed. She’ll crawl out to meet you once you find her. Her tail sticking from under the bed is a sure giveaway in this game of hide-and-seek!
Are you ready to pick this Daisy to join your family? This playful, enthusiastic and sweet girl will be the one to love you all of her life.
