Cody came into MAESSR’s care from a Maryland shelter where he took refuge as a stray. His previous owners were contacted and never came to pick him up, so he was released to rescue. He is a very healthy and happy boy who weighs in at a stout 58 pounds. He has a full tail and a slightly short and stocky build. His coat is long and course and is easily manageable with regular care.
While in his foster home, Cody has been exposed to children as young as 3 and animals of all kinds. He is friendly with everyone he meets and completely ignores cats. He is very playful and enjoys a game of fetch at any time. He walks well on a leash and has had no accidents at all in the house. He will tolerate a crate but his foster family has had no reason to keep him in one. He has had free run of the house and loves to ride in a car. He will, however, raid an unattended trash can if given the chance. During meals he is content to lay quietly under the table. He does not beg for food but will gladly accept a handout. At night he sleeps beside the bed on the floor.
This happy boy has been a true gentleman while with his foster family and has been very well behaved. He shares his food and drink well with the resident springers and has learned to avoid the one Springer that tends to guard his dish. All in all, Cody is a wonderful boy who will give love unconditionally in his new forever family. He will be ready very soon to meet them! Keep an eye on Cody!
