Original: Cody came to his foster family after he was rescued from a Philadelphia shelter. He had been relinquished there by a family member with very little information. At 55 pounds, he is a solid and lovely boy. He has made an excellent companion for both his foster parents and his “sister” springer, Emma. He has a very affectionate personality with people and has proven to be well-mannered with other dogs. He shows no interest in the family cat.
Cody will go into his crate very reluctantly. However, he is very trustworthy and doesn’t spend much time there. He loves riding in a car and looking out the window. Cody loves to be bathed and groomed and is housebroken. Occasionally, he will pick up a toy and play with it, but he mostly just loves to “chill-out.” He knows simple commands such as “sit, lay down, come, and give me your paw.” Although he is a really laid back kind of guy, he loves his walks. At night he likes to sleep on the cool, tiled floor in the master bath or on his doggie bed. No desire to get into the trash, beg, or chew things has been demonstrated by this fellow.
His behavior with kids is unknown at this time, but because of his extremely mellow disposition, his foster parents feel he would probably be fine. He has been a good influence on Emma and she has actually calmed down her high energy level.
Overall, Cody has shown himself to be a perfect companion. He requires very little and has much to give. He just needs to have a family who will continue to lavish him with lots of love and TLC. What could be easier?!?!?
