Clancy was turned into a shelter when the one-year-old baby in the house developed allergies. The shelter contacted MAESSR knowing Clancy would have a wonderful start to a new life.
Clancy is a sweet Springer who is housetrained and crate-trained. He really feels safe in his crate and he sleeps in there with no problems. As far as commands, Clancy knows “sit,” “down,” “roll over,” and “paw.” He does pull on his leash, but when corrected properly, he really responds well. Clancy is a very smart dog who will need a firm, dog-savvy person to help remind him who is in charge.
Clancy is good in the car and will stay in the back and look out the window. When meeting new dogs, Clancy barks and needs to be leashed. Once around them for about thirty minutes, he settles in and gets along without incident.
Clancy will do best with teenagers or families without children. He is a very sweet dog and is turning out to be a very loyal Springer who wants to be with his people 24/7. Are you an experienced dog person who needs a faithful companion? Clancy may be the Springer for you!
