Original: “CJ likes to go for walks and would love a family that walks a lot. He also thinks car rides are really great!”
CJ came to MAESSR after he started repeatedly having issues with the fourteen-year-old rat terrier that lived in the home. His Virginia family dearly loved him, but felt since the rat terrier was there first, CJ had to find another home.
Very frightened and anxious when he arrived at his foster home, CJ just stayed on the sofa and watched the other dogs. According to some of the things his previous owner had said, his foster mom felt that CJ had been dealing with anxiety issues for a long time. When he visited the vet, they agreed that he should start on an inexpensive medication to help alleviate his stress. The foster mom has already seen improvement.
While CJ was at the vet for his check up, they checked his teeth and said they were in really bad shape and wanted to do a dental on him. While he was under for his dental, they had to pull 7 teeth. CJ seems to feel much more comfortable. He is definitely enjoying the soft food he has to eat for the next 7 days. The rest of CJ’s exam all looked great.
CJ has started interacting with the other dogs in his foster home and that is going well. He doesn’t play with very many toys, though. This sweet boy just wants everyone to like him. CJ LOVES having his belly rubbed and scratched and his foster parents are happy to comply. CJ also likes to go for walks and would love to have a forever family that walked a lot. He also thinks car rides are really great! What a good Springer!
Housetrained and crate trained, CJ likes to go to bed around 9 pm. His favorite place to sleep is in bed with his humans! In the kitchen, CJ likes to counter-surf and has been known to steal things off the counter. His foster parents are teaching him that this is not acceptable Springer behavior.
