Original: “A super sweet, playful, loving and mischievous puppy, she loves to play both with her litter mate and the resident Springers.”
When a Maryland Springer breeder developed serious health problems, he relinquished his dogs to MAESSR. Ciao Bella and her sister Mia were two of these dogs.
Ciao Bella is Italian for “Hello Beautiful!” and that is what this sweet girl is, just beautiful! She lives up to her name in every way. A super sweet, playful, loving and mischievous puppy, she loves to play both with her litter mate and the resident Springers. Running in the yard and a game of keep away is great fun. She likes toys, running after the ball and watching and listening to the sounds of the birds. Bella follows the lead of the resident Springer who has a strong prey drive. When it comes to two-legged young ones, she was uncertain at first of the foster parents’ 2 ½ year old grandson but she soon warmed up. Now they are buddies.
Bella is working on housetraining. Her foster parents are outside a great deal with their dogs and she gets praises for “pottying outside” She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night or when her foster family isn’t home. She has learned that her meals are served plated and the communal buffet or sharing plates is not an option. A training class with a professional trainer has proven Bella is eager to learn and a quick study. She loves people and greets everyone with a wagging tail. Leash walking is still a work in progress. The name game, “touch,” “sit,” and “down” are commands her people are currently working on with her.
Please note that MAESSR only places puppies in homes that are committed to training and bonding with the pup in obedience classes. Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs one year old and younger to enroll their puppy in a series of obedience classes within 60 days of adoption.
This sweet girl was great at the vet, rides well in the car (just don’t feed her right before), and her people can touch her anywhere. She loves being with her people and likes to snuggle in one’s lap giving kisses.
Ciao Bella is just a perfect puppy!
